PATA Exchange Event



Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) UK and Ireland Chapter is a non-profit organisation which brings the UK & Ireland travel community together, by connecting front-line travel agents and tour operator decision maker with a wide range of suppliers in the Pacific Asia region. Throughout the year, PATA hosts a number of events, from quiz nights to industry briefings and large- scale agent educational events.

SLC Representation has held the position of Secretariat for PATA UK and Ireland since March 2016 and as such is responsible for the day to day administration and financial management of the Chapter, the organisation of all events from concept to delivery and management of the website, newsletter, database and social media for the Chapter.

PATA UK & Ireland has grown exponentially under SLC'S management, both membership and engagement from the travel industry. The Chapters events are now an integral part of the travel industries calendar and are supported by both suppliers, agents and tour operators.

PATA Exchange is the annual flag-ship B2B networking event, bringing together over 70 suppliers to meet with up to 100 buyers in a day of speed-dating style meetings.

As PATA Exchange is one of the biggest and most popular events, we start organising it up to a year prior, registering suppliers for the event immediately after the previous event. Past supplier attendees have included tourism boards, hotel groups, independent hotels, airlines, cruises, DMC's and representation companies.

Finding a venue to cater to the large amount of attendees, whilst also providing a good location at a low cost, with suitable equipment, can provide a challenge.

SLC gathers critical information from both suppliers and buyers attending the event. Using an appointment preferencing system, we match our suppliers with interested decision-makers from a range of tour operators and agencies. Attendees are provided with an appointment schedule of up to 24 appointments of 15 minutes each. PATA Exchange runs for a full day, from 9:30am to 5pm, with networking tea / coffee breaks and lunch, to ensure attendees have ample opportunity to make new connections throughout the event.

- Seller Feedback: The seller feedback for PATA Exchange for 2018 was outstanding, with 95% of sellers rating the overall day as good or excellent and 75% of sellers stating it as likely or very likely that PATA Exchange will lead to new or increased business for their brand.

- The feedback also provides us with useful insights as to how we can improve. This allows us to ensure each year is better than the last.
